The title track, Sabali, begins with gently tinkling n'goni.
Marbara's lead vocal is delicate and textured, rising to peaks.
This is counter balanced by gorgeous backing vocals in repeating chorus.
A whoop and trill, brings in a bass pulse, probably a bolon.
Then the lead vocal kind of scats off this. The backing singers stop and the music circles about.
This isn't the big belter of the full throttle griot. The vocal phrasing swells and pushes, and is humanly textured, full of feeling. tonypi
